Beach House is light and bright, centrally heated and sleeps 7 comfortably. The Sea Room is spectaular – in the 1800s fishermen loaded their nets and sails straight into it from their boats on the water alongside! At the highest of tides the water is just below the main picture window and in rough weather, snug and warm inside, it’s easy to believe you’re on a boat in a storm. This is a unique experience! |

The Sea Room is the place to relax on comfortable chairs in front of the flat screen LCD TV and watch DVDs; or to eat at the generous dining table, looking south and west out to the estuary. Watch out for the steam trains running along the west shore of the estuary on the way to Torquay and Cornwall. Doors from the living room lead straight out to the Deck – now there’s nothing between you and the water, apart from the beach at low tide. |
The kitchen has just been refitted and is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, as well as a range gas cooker. All crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils are provided, of course. The Quiet Room is a comfortable and peaceful retreat complete with books, games and magazines. And there’s a ground floor cloakroom, too. |

On the first floor is a dual aspect double bedroom, with a feature curved wall, looking across the water and over the village. The single bedroom has a pretty fireplace and fantastic views towards Powderham Castle. Both bedrooms access a bathroom with double shower. Up the stairs past the exposed wall are 2 further double bedrooms, both with exposed beams and real character. The larger room has a split-level en-suite bathroom and an iron bedstead – 2 windows look across to the Haldon Hills. The 2nd double bedroom has a curved wall and a round bed; and looks over the rooftops of the village to the pier and the little harbour. |
